"The Sun are reporting that David Tennant has landed a new ITV1 gritty police drama series inspired by the cult Danish crime show The Killing.
The as yet un-named show [Now named, called Broadchurch] is to be made by Kudos (Spooks and Hustle) and will see David’s character solve crimes his colleagues cannot crack.
The show is said to have a £1 million budget and will go in to production later this year. It is expected to air on ITV1 in January 2013.
A source said:
“This is not just another detective show with a quirky sleuth. There is more to it. It will be in the same vein as The Killing in that it will be suspenseful — just when you think you know what’s going on, David’s character will turn the whole thing on its head.
‘It’s a challenging role but one he is relishing.’
…it will be an 8-part series"
What’s that you say? David Tennant is going to play a role where he figures out things that no one else can? And this is different from a certain other role he played how?
